Terms of use

Last updated 26 October 2026

By using Kovion CCTV, the website at cctv.kovion.site and the app installed from it, you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

Using Kovion CCTV

Filming other people

You're responsible for where you point your camera. In the UK, if a camera covers areas beyond your own property, such as a shared hallway, a neighbour's garden or a public street, data protection law applies to you. You may need to tell people they're being filmed and have a good reason for doing so. Recording conversations raises the same issues. Check the ICO's guidance on domestic CCTV before you set up a camera like this.

Camera codes and invites

A camera's QR code and share link contain a secret key and give full control of that camera; invite QR codes give the access you chose. Treat them like keys and only share them with people you trust. Someone who only types a 6-character code has to be approved on the camera, or by a phone with full control. You can remove a viewer, forget a trusted phone, revoke an invite or reset the QR key at any time.

Not a professional security system

Kovion CCTV depends on your phones, their batteries, your internet connection and your browser. It may miss an event or lose its connection, and it doesn't contact the police or a monitoring centre. Don't rely on it as your only protection for people, property or anything safety-critical.

No warranty

Kovion CCTV is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it reliable and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. To the extent the law allows, Kovion Holdings isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

Changes

The app updates itself. We may change or stop features, and we may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
